1) Navigate to the StateRecords.org homepage here: https://www.staterecords.org. Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage and click the Exercise My Privacy Rights link.

2) You will be redirected to the StateRecords.org opt out form. Enter your first and last name, select the state where you live, enter the city where you live, then click SUBMIT.  

3) Personal records will appear. Locate your record from the results and check the box under Select Record and then click the red Remove Data button.

NOTE: If you find more than one record containing your personal information, refer to Step 5 below for removing more than one record.

4) A new form will appear. Enter your email address and any comments regarding your personal data opt out request. Complete the security CAPTCHA and click Submit.

5) An on-screen notification will appear. Check your email inbox for an opt out confirmation email from StateRecords.org.

NOTE: If you found more than one personal record, click Back to Result and repeat Steps 3, 4, and 5.

6) Open the email from StateRecords.org. Confirm the removal of your personal data by clicking the Click Here link.

7) Confirmation of your opt out request will appear. StateRecords.org will delete your personal information from their website.

3) A Privacy Request Form will appear. Select your state of residence from the drop-down (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia). Click the Myself and Delete My Information boxes. Enter your first name, last name, email address, and the reason for your opt out in the spaces provided. Complete the security CAPTCHA and click Submit.

4) Confirmation of your identity is required to complete your opt out.

5) Сheck your email inbox and open the email from StateRecords.org. Click the Confirm Email button to initiate your opt out.

6) Confirmation of your opt out will appear. StateRecords.org will delete your personal information from their website.
